My Background


Horses have been in my life since I was born. I grew up in Cheshire and was so lucky that my family also enjoyed the equestrians and allowed me to ride and compete from the age of three. My first pony when I was 11 was called Shamrock and he was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid eyes on. A whole 13hh with a gorgeous dun coat complete with black mane and tail. He taught me everything. I rode all my childhood and at 16 went to agricultural college to study horses (and business) .... I'm still rubbish at business. From there I travelled to Germany to work for the prestigious PSI auctions where I rode the most stunning horses. My professional career has allowed me to continue working with these beautiful horses right up to today and after all of these years of being around them I am well versed in their looks and behaviour, which allows me to confidently photograph them in all situations. Below are a couple of images of me in the good old days !!! I think that Irish Wolf Hound actually dwarfs me !!!

Today ........


So moving forward ... I now offer equestrian portraiture and have done now for approximately 5 years. I love it ... maybe even more than weddings !! It is really how I got involved in photography in the first place. I travel all over to different yards and locations to capture the bond between owner and horse (with a few dogs thrown in).

Well .... I can come to your yard ... discounts are available for group bookings .... or do you fancy something out of the ordinary ? Beach maybe ? Or a trip to the woods ? I will send you a preparation sheet prior to your shoot to prepare you as best as possible for the day. Be reassured that I know what I am doing but please don't ever put yourself in danger or out of your comfort zone ... the camera never lies !!!
